CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute - "Andrea Ivory"- Production Company: Tenth Planet.

On Thanksgiving night at a gala event in front of an audience of 3,000 and premiering on the global CNN networks, host Anderson Cooper honored the top 10 CNN heroes of 2009. Among those on stage included breast cancer survivor Andrea Ivory. Her mission is bringing early detection to the doorsteps of uninsured women. Using mobile mammography vans, her group has provided more than 500 free screenings in Miami, Florida.

Moving Picture provided support to the production on multiple occasions; first by supplying a soundman for the on-site shooting, and then again later with a second unit for follow-up interviews including producer, camera, sound and lighting.

The Producer's Cheat Sheet™: iPhone Tips and Tricks

Efficiency Shortcuts:

The "Smart" phone is only getting smarter: with their abounding intellect, so grows our ability to multi-task and become lean, mean, producing monsters! And with every new model and update we are able to do exponentially more with less. Here are a few shortcuts to help you with your own efficiency:

iPhone top bar shortcut

Scroll to the Top of the Page
When you are using iPhone apps, you can automatically jump to the top of the page by tapping on the “top bar”, which has the time, service bars and the battery information. In Safari, this will also bring up the URL address bar.

Take Screenshots Anytime
You can take screenshots at anytime on your iPhone. First, press and hold the “Home” button and then click the “Sleep” button once. The screen will flash white and the screenshot will be stored in your camera roll immediately.

Save Images in Safari
When you are browsing web pages on Safari, simply touch the image and hold your finger until the menu appears. Select "Save Image." The downloaded image is located under your Photo / Camera Roll.

iPhone alternate character shortcut

Alternate Characters
Hold down a letter on the keyboard, and a pop-up appears with various versions of the character. Select the character you want and it is inserted into your message.

Instantly Access iPod Controls
You can change the behavior of the "Home" button "double-click" action by going to Settings > General > Home Button. Choose "iPod." Then, every time you are in the middle of an email or other iPhone app, you can double click the "Home" button and the iPod controls will appear.

Quickly Zoom Out in Maps
Pinching to zoom in and out in Google Maps is pretty neat, and you probably know that you can double-tap to zoom in quickly, but how can you zoom out quickly? Tap with 2 fingers!

Maximize Battery Life
There is a separate sensor situated right above the earpiece, that detects ambient light. The iPhone uses this sensor only once per session, just as you unlock the handset. But if you cover the sensor as you unlock the phone, you will trick the phone into thinking it’s in a dark room, and it will power down the screen brightness. You can also turn off Bluetooth and WiFi if you don’t expect to use them for a while. You can also set email fetch time to “Hourly” or “Manually”, and turn the “Push” option off in order to save energy.

Set Up Hotmail on the iPhone with Gmail
Under Settings, go to Forwarding and POP/IMAP » Enable IMAP. Save the changes.
Under Settings and then Accounts, add another email address — add your existing Hotmail account. Now go to Hotmail. In your inbox, there should be a message from Gmail; you need to click on a link in that message. Next go to Options and set up forwarding to your new Gmail account. It’s up to you whether messages are retained in Hotmail. (If you don’t have an option for forwarding, you may be out of luck)
Back to Gmail: There should be a message from Hotmail; you need to click on a link in that message. Now back into Gmail settings, under Accounts, you should see your Hotmail email address listed. Click on the link that says Make Default. From here on, you can use Gmail as your way to check Hotmail.
Now how to access from iPhone: On the iPhone, go to Settings and then Mail. Delete any previous attempts you’ve made to make a Hotmail account — these can cause problems with the new account you create. Create a new email account by clicking Add Account. On the next screen, choose Other (don’t pick Gmail). Here are the settings:
Name: Your Name
Address: Your current hotmail.com email address
Description: (can be anything) “hotmail”
Incoming Mail Server:
HostName: imap.gmail.com
UserName: yournewaddress@gmail.com
Password: the password for this gmail account
Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.gmail.com
UserName: yournewaddress@gmail.com
Password: the password for this gmail account
All other settings should match the defaults.
Send yourself a test message to your Hotmail account from another account. Give it a few minutes, and it should then show on your iPhone.

Reset Your iPhone
Press and hold the “Home” Button and the “Sleep” Button to Reset your iPhone. A white light will flash, the screen will shut off and then turn back on. Keep holding both buttons until the screen turns back on.
